Apparent Size Discrepancies

Why do several heads have a smaller usable reservoir volume compared to actual volume? Excellent question. For these heads, we found that the low-profile, single o-ring plungers were not good enough, and under pressure (and especially when heated), material would blow past the plunger, yielding unreliable dispensing rates. We redesigned a better plunger assembly with tighter tolerances and the option for a double o-ring, but this took up several cc of reservoir volume. This means that while the reservoirs themselves are still 15 cc, the volume usable for payload is actually between 10 cc and 11 cc.
